Hotel with Airstreams, cabins and a meadow

Kate’s Lazy Meadow is a curious motel near the Catskill mountains, near New York, in the United States. This motel is located very close to the place where the world famous Woodstock Festival took place in the summer of 1969.

The motel consists of several rustic cabins that are used as rooms. The decoration of each room follows its own course, where some rooms have a distinctly 1950’s décor while others have another main theme. The hotel has several Standard rooms and several suites, all of them with quirky, vintage kitchens decorated as rather colourful, real mid XXth Century North American kitchens.

One of the advantages of this quirky hotel is its peaceful and quiet location. This hotel has its own spacious meadow and a total territory of 9 acres. From this hotel guests can enjoy incredible views towards the Catskill mountains. Nearby, guests will also find a rather small river called the Esopus, where visitors can fish or dive during the summer months.

The motel has nine cabins and five Airstreams instead of standard rooms. The hotel is near the famous Route 28, the ideal place for travellers who need short term accommodation or for those who want to stay for a couple of days and explore the most touristic places in the region.

Kate’s Lazy Meadow Motel has several rooms decorated in a different manner. The Psychedelic Gnome room is a room with walls covered by wallpaper that reminds one of an enchanted forest full of gnomes and butterflies. All rooms have their own private bathroom, and most of the charming cabins have several rooms, an ideal choice of accommodation for groups of friends and families.

Another type of accommodation are the Lazy Meadow Cabin Suites. Some of these suites only have one room while others have two rooms, and all have a private bathroom, a kitchen and a living room.

The Airstreams, or the vintage trailers, are located nearer to the river, amidst trees, and these rooms are available during the summer months. All the Airstreams are equipped with air conditioning and a kitchen.

The Lazy Cabin is slightly further away, around 8 kilometres away from the hotel. The cabin has three rooms, a living room, a kitchen, several bathrooms and a cosy chimney. The Lazy Lodge, on the other hand, is only 5 minutes away from the hotel, and is a smaller house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both houses are the ideal accommodation for families, groups or friends, and have lovely views and a barbecue.

All rooms have WiFi connection and a telephone, a TV set and a collection of DVDs. Price per night depends on the type of accommodation and the season, but a double room usually costs around 102€ per night. It is always better to reserve the rooms in advance, since especially during summer time, there may be a great influx of tourists.

Near the hotel there is a wide variety of restaurants and a spa ideal for a relaxing evening. Visitors will be able to enjoy fishing and other outdoor activities, while others might be interested in visiting the exact spot where the famous Woodstock festival took place in 1969. Visitors can also visit New York or other smaller nearby towns.
