The Stanley Hotel in Estes Valley, near Denver, Colorado, in the United States, is a curious hotel with lovely mountain views. This hotel is 2,286 meters above sea level, and is regarded as one of the most historic hotels in the United States.

The Deluxe King Room is a newly renovated room that is located in the historic main building, and is one of the most spacious rooms at the hotel, complete with an exquisitely furnished decorated interior. Guests can watch TV on a large 42 inch screen or relax in the colossal private Jacuzzi in the bathroom. This room, which costs around 179€ per night, has the best views towards the mountains.
There are also several private villas. Both the one room villa and the two room villa cost around 269€ per night. All the villas at this hotel are near the main building, and are designed as small winter mountain houses. Each one of the villas has several rooms, a fully equipped large kitchen, a stone chimney and other small luxuries, as well as impressive views from the windows.
The three and four bedroom villas are much large, with spacious rooms, and an elegant, classic decoration. These villas cost around 335€ per night, and give one the impression that they are lounging in their own private house in the mountains.
One of the most interesting features of this hotel is the possibility of taking a guided ghost tour. Several groups are organized, and as the visitors go from one room to another, the guide offers them interesting stories about the surreal legends of this hotel. Undoubtedly, room 217 and room 401 are the most wanted rooms at this hotel, since they are both said to be haunted, Legends says that room 217 is a haunted room, and it was there that the famous writer Stephen King wrote his novel “The Shining“. Room 401 is the favorite room of ghosthunters, since apparently several spirits live there. Other people say that room 418 also has its own ghosts who wander around. Many people who have already visited this hotel say that they have heard animated voices and music coming from the deserted dinging hall, while others have heard a certain being playing the piano in the empty ballroom.
For an extra cost, guests can enjoy and savour delicious truffles, fresh fruit and the best collection of cheeses directly in their rooms. Guests can also rent the ball room or the restaurant if they want to celebrate a major or an important event. There is also a large conference room, fully equipped with Internet via WiFi.
