The Pelirocco Hotel is located in Brighton Beach, in the United Kingdom. This hotel was one of the first boutique hotels of the country, and it has several main themes, including the 1950’s, rocknroll and pop themes.
The hotel has 19 very different rooms, such as individual rooms, double rooms with a double bed, or double rooms with two twin beds, as well as rooms for people with reduced mobility. All the rooms at this hotel have their own bathroom with a shower or a bathtub, and breakfast is included in the price. Each room is decorated in its own quirky style, and all rooms are painted in very bright colours and have rather unusual decorations. Each room has a flat screen TV, a Playstation 2, radio and Internet access. Price varies between 50 and 270€ per night.
All rooms have curious themes, with some of the rooms decorated in a lavish pop style, other rooms decorated like a mermaid’s dwelling and other rooms dedicated to musicians. The Pin Up Parlour is decorated with a Pin Up Girl theme, full of dark colours and photos. One of the rooms has a curious boudoir dedicated to the 1950’s muse Betty Page.
The Play Room is the most burlesque room at the hotel, with an enormous circular bed, kitsch decorations and a boudoir. The room even has a pole in the centre, allowing guests to take pole dancing and striptease lessons. One of the newest rooms at this hotel is The Ophelia Fancy Upper Room, a room where lingerie and lace are part of the pastel decorations.
The Sputnik room is an individual room with a futurist look in just about every centimetre of the room, and reminds guests of a space capsule. The Rough Trade Rough Nite room was inspired by a music shop in London, and immortalises an indie style. Ali’s Room is named after one of the best boxers in the world, and in the very centre of this large room guests will find a real boxing ring.
One of the best rooms at this hotel is the Soul Supreme Room. It has a classical style with similar furniture, golden walls, a wide array of golden ornaments, dark purple details and smoke screens. Another delightful room is Cissy Mo’s Magic Garden, a room full of psychedelic colours and intricate designs.
The hotel organizes many activities. Guests can enjoy a Singstar night, when all guests are invited to sing along to their favourite artist’s song as they watch their videoclips, or else visit the hotel’s PlayStation Bar. The hotel offers its guests a delicious traditional English breakfast, with bacon, eggs, fresh fruit and toast. The hotel also offers menus for vegetarians.
The hotel also offers a catering service, and can even prepare picnic baskets for guests who want to spend a quiet day in the countryside. The picnic basket varies according to season. The hotel can also bake fresh cupcakes for guests to enjoy upon their arrival. The catering service can also prepare salads, sandwiches or puddings for guests to enjoy directly in their rooms or in one of the meeting rooms.
The hotel has several meeting and conference rooms, which can be used both for informal meetings and more formal conferences. The meeting rooms are quite small and can be arranged in several ways. The maximum capacity is eight people sitting around a large desk or fourteen people sitting in rows opposite a large screen. For larger celebrations and conferences, guests can rent the PlayStation Bar and the hotel’s restaurant, with a maximum capacity of 25 people.
