The Dotonbori hotel is a magnificent hotel located in Osaka, Japan. The hotel never fails to surprise anyone since even its façade is highly unusual, decorated with several giant statues representing heads.
The Dotonbori Hotel is considered to be one of the most peculiar hotels in Asia. It is located in the commercial heart of the city, the well known district of Shinasaibashi.
The façade is quite surprising in itself. Four large pillars flank the main entrance, and each of these pillars is a giant statue of a head.
The hotel has different rooms that vary in size, although all of them are furnished with comfortable beds, bathrooms and a classical design in pastel colours. All rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, a television and Internet access. Some rooms are adaptable to the needs of physically impaired guests which will ensure a comfortable stay. There are two types of Standard Twin rooms. The Standard Twin Pillar rooms have two twin beds with a large decorative pillar in the center. The price of this room is around 95€ per night. The Standard Twin room is slightly larger than the latter, with a more classical design and two double beds. This room costs around 111€ per night.
The Triple Room is a large room that sleeps three, with two individual beds and an extra bed. The 17 square metre room is a comfortable choice since it costs around 133€ per night.
Breakfast is served from 7am to 10am and costs around 8€ per person. This breakfast includes specialities from all over the world, with a large buffet full of western food and another one full of the more traditional, typical Japanese goods. Guests will be able to taste a real dim sum, dozens of different rice varieties and rice based dishes, authentic miso soup, a grand selection of fish and sea food, many types of salads, freshly baked bread, fresh fruit and many drinks.
Those who enjoy small snacks between meals will feel quite at home at this hotel, since there are several snack bars and vending machines which sell many soft drinks, juices, mineral water and several varieties of tea. Other vending machines also sell beer, a local drink called shochu and whisky. On some of the floors guests will be able to find ice machines and microwave ovens, as well as vending machines selling French fries or cereal bars.
