The A Train Hotel is a small and charming hotel in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. Starting from the lobby and finishing with the rooms, this hotel is all about one unmistakable theme, trains.

The hotel is full of posters, statues and other decorations representing all kinds of trains. This curious hotel was the idea of Jos and Erika Heijnsdijk. The hotel boasts an extremely useful, 24 hour check in, something those guests who arrive late are thankful for. The hotel is also in charge of organizing many excursions and trips throughout the city.

This hotel has a total of 34 rooms, and there are several different types of rooms. All rooms have either an individual or a double bed, a private bathroom with a hair dryer, a desk, a radio, a television, a large safe, laptop chargers and an alarm clock. The rooms are decorated with all kinds of objects that follow the main theme of the hotel, and guests will be able to enjoy pictures, drawings and vintage posters of trains that hang on the walls of every room.

Individual rooms are the smallest rooms at the hotel, the ideal choice for solo travellers. These individual rooms have simple furnishings and an individual bed, and the price is usually around 62€ per night, although it tends to be higher during weekends.

Double rooms are slightly larger rooms, equipped with a working area and all the necessary amenities, and they can have either one double bed or two twin beds. These rooms can cost between 86 and 115€ per night depending on the dates.

The hotel also has a triple room, a large spacious room with all the standard equipment as in other rooms, and enough space for three beds. The triple room is a good choice for families and groups of friends travelling together. Price is around 100€ per night.

Price is usually around 96€ per night during the weekdays, although it tends to be higher during the weekends.

The Old Dutch Suite is known to be the best room at the hotel. This suite is a popular place for celebrations and special occasions. The Old Dutch Suite has a unique style with lavish decorations and wooden furniture, complete with a double bed, tea and coffee making machines and large, inviting and comfortable armchairs. The suite also has its own patio where guests can sit down after a long day to enjoy the views. The minimum price per night is usually around 96€, although the price is higher during the weekends and during the high season.

This hotel provides a delicious complimentary continental breakfast for all its guests. Guests will be able to savour several new types of bread, including traditional Dutch bread rolls. There is a large range of all types of butter, marmalade and pastries, as well as many different types of cereal, ham and cheese followed by flavoured tea, excellent coffee and fresh juice.

Guests will be able to relax at the Pullman Lounge. Near the lounge guests will find an Internet corner with several computers and Internet access. The hotel also has a small snack bar which is open during the day, so guest will be able to enjoy a snack with some hot chocolate.

This cosy hotel is located in the centre of the city, near the Amsterdam Centraal, or Central Station, which links the city to the airport, the most important Dutch cities and to nearby European countries. The hotel also has its own private parking. Near the hotel, guests will be able to enjoy several of the most important landmarks, including many world famous museums, as well as many bars, coffee shops and boutiques.
