A Part Love A Part Hate has a satirical design, mocking the tumultuous history of the Apartheid. This room is decorated with black and white phrases relating to the Apartheid.

Main Street Constellations is decorated with constellations that have the shape of men and women. Each one of the men and women held together by a red string is a person who is part of the city’s history, and one of the constellations is Nelson Mandela.

50 Stories is based on the history of the Carlton Center, one of the city’s first malls and one of the first public spaces to allow interracial socializing. Oopsy Daisy is abright yellow room. The Great Empire room glows in gold and has two large wooden beds with carved head boards. Autumn in Rome has two beds with carved leaves. Roman de la Rose is covered in small rosebuds.

Glitter is a room decorated with shiny furniture and sparkling portraits. Leopard’s Phantasy has a double bed with a leopard print duvet. Sweet Dreams is known for its mural of a dark sky with clouds. Wall Street has murals of tall buildings.

Restaurant.

Guests will be able to enjoy breakfasts at the Hailam Coffee House, located next to the hotel. The price per breakfast is included in the room rate.

Guests will be able to try traditional food at the Hailam Kopitiam restaurant. The restaurant is known for its local dishes and for its views towards the Shah Alam lake.

Events.

The hotel has a large conference hall. Next to the reception guests will be able to buy tickets for nearby fairs and other cultural events.

Location.

The hotel is located next to Section 7 of Shah Alam, in Klang, a city a short distance away from Kuala Lumpur. Guests will be able to visit I CIty and the Blue Mosque, one of the city’s main landmarks. The Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is located near the hotel.

Guests will be able to golf in the city’s main golf courses. Extreme Park and the Bukit Cahaya Agricultural Park offer many activities. The area where the hotel is located is known for its traditional markets. Guests will be able to visit the Sultan Alam Shah Museum and its many art galleries. The Shah Alam Arte Gallery is next to the lake. Guests will be able to explore the nearby botanical gardens.

Hotel Fifty One, a hotel without staff and with an Alpine décor

The Fifty One Hotel is located in the mountains near Davos, in Switzerland. This hotel does not have any staff and almost all services provided automatically.

Rooms.

The hotel has barely any staff and guests have access to most of the hotel’s features through specific automated machines located in the lobby. The hotel is one of the Morosani hotels located in the city. The chain of hotels decided to turn some old apartments into a new hotel, and when they realized that the rooms left no space for the lobby and the dining hall, they simply substituted these two services with machines.

This hotel is one of the first automated hotels in the region. On the outside the hotel is similar to any apartment block, and on the inside it is decorated in a chic Alpine style. Rooms can only be reserved online and the check in is done using the machines located in the lobby, which allows guests to introduce the reservation number and pick up the card that serves as a key.

The hotel has 24 rooms. All rooms are double rooms with a bathroom. The rooms are decorated in neutral beige, blacks and greys, and each bed has a faux snakeskin headboard and dark wood furniture. There are 42 inch television screens in each room, a desk with a chair and a multimedia concentrator that connects all the multimedia devices.

There are twenty double rooms with their own bathroom. These rooms have two queensize beds, a maximum capacity of up to four people, a bathroom with bathrobes and a balcony with views towards the south and Jackobshorn. Price is around 205€ per night.

The four Deluxe rooms are larger rooms with a queensize bed, its own bathroom, a balcony with views towards the North and the city, and can accommodate up to two people. Price is around 250€ per night.

The bathrooms are decorated with white tiles and have smaller make up mirrors. The large mirror in each bathroom can be transformed into a television screen.

The hotel does not have any staff, except for the cleaning and repair staff. The cleaning staff are discrete and there is staff in charge of the security cameras. Guests can contact staff by telephone.

Restaurant.

The breakfast room is not a traditional breakfast buffet, and guests can choose their breakfast from a variety of vending machines. There are vending machines that provide fresh juice, tea and coffee making machines, vending machines that offer fresh fruit, machines that serve fresh bread and pastries, and several machines that offer traditional breakfast dishes. The breakfast room is available until the afternoon.

The hotel only offers accommodation with breakfast, and guests will be able to enjoy other services in the nearby hotels. The hotel is located across the road from the Posthotel, a hotel that belongs to the same chain. At the Posthotel guests will be able to enjoy a more personalized service, traditional buffet breakfasts and dinners for an extra cost. A continental breakfast costs between 16 and 24€ per person, and includes coffee, tea, bread and pastries accompanied by butter and margarine, a range of jams, ham and cheese. In the nearby Schweizerhof, another Morosani hotel guests will be able to relax at the spa for a special price.

The hotel is adapted for guests who visit the region during the ski season. There is a room with a special dryer for ski boots where guests can leave their ski gear and snowboards.

Events.

Guests who want to celebrate a conference will be able to rent one of the meeting rooms at the nearby Morosani hotels. There are fifteen large conference rooms that guests can choose from. All meeting halls have Internet access.

Location.

The hotel is located in the center of Davos, the scene for the Davos Economic Forum. There are several restaurants and shops in this city. There are several ski resorts a short distance away.

A short walk away from the hotel guests will find the Jackobshorn ski lift, which has direct access to several ski slopes. These ski slopes are located between 1550 and 2590 metres above sea level. On the other side of the mountain is Parsenn, an historical ski resort that is more than twelve kilometres in length and the place where one of the first skiing competitions took place. Klosters is located nearby and has more than 320 kilometres of slopes.

Houshi Ryokan Hotel, an ancient inn with healing thermal springs

The Houshi Ryokan Hotel is located in Komatsu, in Japan, and is considered to be one of the oldest existing hotels. The hotel is more than a millennium old and is a family hotel.

Rooms.

This ancient ryokan, a local guesthouse and inn, has 100 rooms. The hotel has a hanare, a private emmeikaku residence with ceilings decorated with red squares. All rooms has poetic names and are decorated in the local, traditional style.

There are several types of rooms, and each room is decorated to represent a season, summer, autumn, start of spring and spring. Some rooms share a bathroom, others have their own bathroom, and there are larger rooms that can accommodate up to four people.

Each room has a small area where guests can leave their shoes. Yukatas, cotton kimonos that are worn after a bath in the thermal springs, are provided for each guest. Each room has tatami floors, a table with cushions to sit on, several futons, a wardrobe and a balcony with views.

Price is between 151 and 341€ per night. Price includes breakfast and a traditional dinner, and guests have access to the hotel’s thermal springs.

Restaurant.

All dishes are prepared using traditional ingredients, and can be adapted to vegetarians and people who do not eat pork. Most dishes are prepared using fresh seafood and local spices. There is room service available for guests who would rather enjoy their meals in their rooms.

Guests will be able to enjoy long walks around the hotel’s many Japanese gardens. On the hotel’s territory there is a Shinji pond with carps.

The hotel has a small stage where Noh performances take place during the Garyo Festival. Guests will be able to watch kusemai dances, dengaku concerts and traditional poetry. The hotel has a museum, the Houshi Museum, which has several galleries filled with ancient artefacts and local art.

Guests will be able to enjoy baths in the ofuro baths and in the thermal springs that are located near the rooms. These thermal springs are said to have healing waters. There are two springs inside the hotel and two springs on the hotel’s territory, one of them for men and the other for women. Families will be able to bathe in the separate family springs.

Location.

The hotel was built over a millennium ago, and has been owned by the same family for over 46 generations. The hotel is one of the country’s oldest inns, and was built after the thermal springs were discovered near the old village.

It is said the Tiacho, a monk, visited Mount Hakusan, a nearby mountain, and after the sun set, the deity of Hakusan appeared to him and told him that twenty kilometres from there, in the village of Awazu, there is an underground thermal spring with waters that could heal ailments. The next morning Taicho went down to the village, and with a group of locals uncovered the springs. Taicho told his apprentice Garyo Houshi to build an inn next to the healing waters.

The hotel is located in Komatsu, in the Ishikawa region, in Japan. The region and the hotel are known for their natural thermal springs, some of which are located on the hotel’s territory. The hotel was built for visitors who came to pamper themselves and relax at the springs.

The Grand Deluxe rooms have a bedroom that is connected to the living room and large windows. These rooms have two television sets, and there is a sofa bed in the living room. The Executive Grand Deluxe rooms are larger and have a marble bathroom. The master bedroom is connected to the living room, which has a sofa bed. Price is from 401€ per night.

Restaurant.

The hotel has several bars, the 1897 Bar and the Mosaic Chill, where guests and visitors will be able to enjoy an afternoon next to the swimming pools. The Aspen and K Grill restaurants are the hotel’s main restaurants.

In the Executive Lounge guests will be able to enjoy continental breakfasts. During tea they will be able to try several types of tea, and during the afternoons cocktails with canapés are served. Near the ski slopes there are two Alpine cafés, the Avalanche and the St. Moritz.

The hotel is located inside a mall that has many restaurants, shops, spas, ski slopes and swimming pools. There is an infinity pool located on one of the terraces that has views towards the city. Two of the outdoor pools become indoor pools during the windy season.

The hotel has a playroom for younger guests and a special play area for toddlers. In the Magic Planet children will be able to spend an afternoon bowling, playing pool and playing videogames.
