Gallery Hotel, colourful cushions, a gym with a designer pool and Japanese restaurants

The Gallery Hotel is located in the central financial district in Singapore. The building is a large cement block with thick colourful windows sills and on the inside the hotel has many murals and paintings.

Rooms.

The hotel has 222 rooms, and there are several types of rooms. There are several twin rooms and double rooms, and each room has its own bathroom with a shower. The beds are covered with white covers and colourful cushions. Each type of room has its own style and decorations.

The hotel has colourful lights and murals that decorate the halls. There are several floors that were designed for women, where the room service consists only of women. Each room has a flat screen television set and access to the hotel’s WiFi.

The standard rooms are the Gallery double rooms. There are Gallery rooms with a large double bed and rooms that have twin beds, and there are bathrooms with a bathtub and bathrooms with a shower.

There are two types of Glazzhaus rooms, those that have two twin beds and those that have a double bed. In each bathroom there is a bathtub. These rooms have floor to ceiling windows and views towards the hotel’s swimming pool.

The Bookend Club rooms are larger rooms with a kingsize beds, and guests can choose between having a room with a bathtub and having a room with a shower. These rooms have views towards Singapore river, an historical canal.

Restaurant.

The Zenden restaurant is the hotel’s main restaurant, a dining hall where guests will be able to enjoy many regional dishes. The Zenden Lounge is a bar area known for its cocktails.

The eM Café and Bar is located on the banks of the canal. Guests will be able to enjoy live concerts and DJ’s. The Bar 84 is another one of the hotel’s bars, where guests will be able to watch a Japanese magician’s show.

Sapporo Ramen Miharu is a Japanese restaurant where visitors will be able to enjoy many types of noodles. The Sapporo Shochu Dining Bar is a bar where guests will find more than 100 types of shochu, a local drink that can be accompanied by traditional dishes from the region of Tokyo. The other Japanese restaurant is Okinawa Mimigar, where guests will be able to taste authentic food from Okinawa island.

The hotel’s swimming pool is located on the roof. The designer pool has views towards the city center. Gym 360 is a gym with several weight lifting areas, a kickboxing area, a yoga hall and a juice bar.

The hotel’s spa is Ayuthaya, where guests will be able to enjoy authentic Thai massages. The spa offers many treatments, some of which used to be available to Thai Royalty. Luvur Nails is a mani and pedi center where guests can have foot massages.

Events.

There are several conference halls and a banquet hall in the hotel. On the second floor guests will find a business center with several desktops, photocopying machines and printers. The hotel offers a transport service from and to the nearest airport.

Location.

The hotel is located in the center of Singapore, in Robertson Quay. A short distance away from the hotel is Orchard Road, one of the city’s main streets, filled with bars, restaurants and shops.

This colourful hotel is located next to one of the city’s historical canals. Near the hotel guests will find Clarke Quay, a district filled with bars and restaurants. Guests will be able to shop on Orchard Road, visit the Chinatown area and tour the city, known for its colonial architecture and glass buildings.

Auberge du Sud, bivouacs and camping in the dunes

The Auberge du Sud Hotel is located in the dunes of the Sahara desert east of Morocco. This desert hotel has several traditional African huts and a couple of nomadic tents that are used as double rooms.

Rooms.

The hotel has several standard rooms decorated in the traditional style of the tribes of the Sahara. The rooms located in the main building have a large double bed, a bathroom with a shower and decorations the colour of the desert and the sand.

There are two types of rooms at the hotel, the Standard rooms and the Luxury rooms, which are larger and have paintings by local artists decorating the lounges. The rooms are decorated in the colours of the desert, and there are murals of camels and dunes decorating the walls.

Guests will be able to stay in a Berber tent, which are located in a camping spot in the dunes near the hotel. Guests have the option of staying at the tent camp of an authentic nomad camp. There are several types of tents,from simple bivouacs to large tents located in the camps. The bathrooms for guests who stay in the tents are located inside the hotel.

The standard rooms have a price of 25€ per person per night. The larger standard room have a price of 35€ per person per night, and the price includes breakfast and dinner. These two types of rooms are furnished with two twin beds each.

A night in a tent located on the hotel’s territory costs around 20€ per night. The Luxury rooms are large room that have a private terrace and the price is 40€ per person per night in a double room with breakfast and dinner.

Guests will be able to spend a night at the Bouydrguie bivouac, which is a located a on the other side of the dune, a long camel ride away. Each tent is a private tent with a mattress, a pillow and several covers. During their stay guests will be able to taste traditional tea and enjoy an authentic Moroccan dinner. A continental breakfast consisting of coffee, tea, orange juice, Moroccan bread and a selection of jams is served at dawn. Price is 40€ per night.

Visitors will be able to enjoy long stays in the desert. Guests can spend the first night in a bivouac and the rest of their stay with a nomadic family in one of the local villages. Price for this type of stay is around 50€ per night, including three meals and a personal guide around the desert.

The Tislite Nounzar is a large bivouac located to the north of the dunes. Guests who stay at this hotel will be able to climb to the highest dune and enjoy the sunset. When the guests first arrive at the bivouac they are served a traditional Moroccan tea with biscuits and after that, a traditional dinner. Each one of the tents is a private tent that has a mattress, pillows, covers and electricity, and in the center of the camp there is a buildings with bathrooms and showers. Coffee, tea, orange juice, Berber pancakes, eggs, cheese, yoghurt and Moroccan bread with olive oil, butter and jam are served for breakfast. Price is around 60€ per night, and the price includes breakfast and dinner. There is a larger tent with a private bathroom and shower located on the camp grounds, and this tent costs 80€ per person per night.

Restaurant.

The hotel has a restaurant where guests will be able to taste authentic Moroccan food and local desserts. The restaurant is decorated in shades of orange and yellow, the colours of the dessert.

The hotel has a large swimming pool. Guests will be able to relax by the pool and enjoy views towards the desert and the dunes.

Events.

Events can be organized at this hotel. The hotel offers many excursions and organized trips for groups, and guests will be able to spend a night at a Berber camp, cycle around the dunes and ride a camel. There is a trip on camel back to the top of a dune to view the sunset. Price per trip is around 15€ per person.

There are jeep excursions around the desert. Each driver is a local guide who is familiar with the region. Guests will be able to explore the south of the country and the dunes where there are ancient fossils, visit the traditional villages near the town of Khamlya, spend an afternoon exploring the nearby oasis and the town of Merzouga and enjoy a tea and a kasbah meal with a local nomad family. Price for this trip is 130€ per person.

Location.

The hotel is located in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, in Morocco. A short distance away from the hotel guests will find the town of Merzouga.

Twelve Decades, twelve designs

The Twelve Decades Hotel is located in Johannesburg, in South Africa. This boutique hotel has many rooms decorated in several art styles, and each one of the twelve decades has its own style.

Rooms.

The hotel, located in a building that is part of a large cultural complex, has twelve double rooms. Each room is dedicated to a decade and was designed by a team of local architect and designers. Each room has a double bed, a lounge area with armchairs, a bathroom with a shower, Internet access and flat television screens. The price per room is between 77 and 90€ per night.

The Vision Main Street life is a room based on the impact of a meteorite that crashed into the southern part of the city billions of years ago, creating the Vredefort Crater. This room is decorated in whites.

Sir Abe Bailey room is dedicated to the Randlords, the rulers that used to rule the region. This rooms has a brick wall and antique Chinese carved furniture that represents the many Chinese immigrants, many of whom travelled to the region to become miners.

The House That Jack Built is a room dedicated to the city’s boxing history. In the center of the room guests will find a boxing ring made of wood and there are several trophies decorating the wooden shelves.

The Minehaus room is a double room known for its bauhaus décor. The room has many murals decorated with bauhaus graphic designs, and the angular furniture is made of colourful metal and dark wood.

The Marabi Room is dedicated to the many mines that can be found in the region and to the marabi dance. The room is decorated with furniture built in several styles and has a rough floor.

Who is Herbert Dolmo is a large room dedicated to the traditional Bantu performances. Bantu was a teacher who tried to buffer the effect of colonial domination by promoting dramatic performances, and the beds in this rooms have thick velvet curtains.

A Part Love A Part Hate has a satirical design, mocking the tumultuous history of the Apartheid. This room is decorated with black and white phrases relating to the Apartheid.

Main Street Constellations is decorated with constellations that have the shape of men and women. Each one of the men and women held together by a red string is a person who is part of the city’s history, and one of the constellations is Nelson Mandela.

50 Stories is based on the history of the Carlton Center, one of the city’s first malls and one of the first public spaces to allow interracial socializing. The mall has an observation deck with views towards the city decorated with black walls and black paintings, and these decorations can be seen in this room.

The Ponte Obscura room is dedicated to the Ponte building. This building was one of the city’s largest downtown buildings, which was abandoned during the exodus towards the suburbs, and the room has a large screen with the city painted upside down on it separating the double room and the lounge area.

Catwalk Customs room is a vogue room dedicated to fashion. There is a runway in the middle of the room and the room’s lamp have the shape of large industrial spotlights used in modelling shows.

The Perpetual Liberty rooms has three living spaces, one of them dedicated to the past, another one to the present and the third one to the future. The city’s dark past is the living room, the present is where the bed is located and the bright future is the niche area that has a large window with views towards the city.

Restaurant.

The hotel provides glasses, plates and dining utensils for guests who want to prepare their own meals. The Rooftop Bar is a bar located on the hotel’s roof. The bar, which has views towards the city center, is known for its live DJ performances and themed nights.

Near the hotel there are several restaurants, and part of the restaurants offer breakfasts and room service to guests who stay at the hotel. The main restaurants are the Pata Pata diner and the Chalkboard Café. In the center of the complex where the hotel is located guests will find the Canteen restaurant, which serves lunch and dinner. Guests will be able to enjoy ethnic food at one of the many stalls located in the Main Market.

On the roof of the hotel visitors will find a gym with weights and a boxing ring, and the hotel organizes boxing and yoga classes. The gym is decorated in dark colours and there is a large windows with views towards the city.

The Cocoon is a spa with a meditation area located on one of the hotel’s floors. Guests will be able to enjoy massages and relaxing treatments, and there is a nutritionist who can advise guests who want to control their weight. Meditation and yoga classes are organized in one of the spa’s rooms.

Events.

There are several options for guests who want to celebrate their events at the hotel. On one of the floors there is a meeting space that can accommodate up to fifteen guests.

The halls located in the Chalkboard Café and the large conference hall located in the complex that can accommodate up to 400 people can be rented for events. The Bioscope is another events hall equipped with audiovisual equipment which can be rented for events of up to 67 people.

Location.

The hotel is located to the east of Johannesburg’s city center, in the city’s central business district. Near the hotel there are many bars, ethnic restaurants and local shops.

The hotel is part of the Main Street Life complex, which supports the Maboneng Project that was created to promote art and design in the city. The complex has several art galleries, a cinema and a stage for concerts and performances.

There is a transport service to and from the city center. Near the hotel there are many art galleries and museums. The hotel offers an exchange program for designers, who will be able to stay at the hotel in exchange for their designs being shown in the Main Street Life collection.

The hotel organizes guided tours on foot around the city. These excursions tour the city’s main landmarks and monuments, and guests will be able to visit the Johannesburg Art Gallery, the Apartheid Museum and the Ellis Park Stadium.

Hotel Nobis, marble bathrooms, oak panels and stucco ceilings

The Nobis Hotel is located in the center of Stockholm, in Sweden. This hotel has an ancient winding staircase that was built back when the building was used as a private mansion and later as a bank, and the rooms are covered in oak panels.

The hotel has 201 rooms. There are several types of rooms, 69 standard rooms, 99 superior rooms, 22 deluxe rooms and 11 suites. These designer rooms have origami lamps, dark furniture and thick oak panels. The hotel’s winding staircase has wrought iron handlebars.

The hotel’s rooms have Internet access, a minibar and a multimedia sound system connected to a flat television screen. Each room has a desk with a designer chair and several table lamps. This hotel is an ecological hotel that was built using recyclable materials.

The bathrooms were built using Carrara marble. The designer sinks have chromed taps and there are bathrooms with a bathtub and bathrooms with a shower. Bathrobes, bath products and slippers are provided in the bathrooms for each guest.

The one bedroom suites have a double bed, a living room with sofas and a bathroom with a bathtub and a shower. Some of these rooms have views towards Berzelii Park. Guests who stay in these suites have access to the hotel’s VIP club. Price is 640€ per night.

There are three Corner suites which are located on the corner of the buildings. These suites have beds larger than kingsize beds, a living room with sofas and several bathroom with bathtubs and showers. Guests will be able to enjoy views towards the Normalmstrong and the Berzelii Park, and guests who stay in these rooms have access to the hotel’s VIP club. These rooms cost 755€ per night.

The Panorama suites are known for their views and their extra large beds, and these suites have a lounge area and a bathroom with a bathtub and a shower. Guests will have access to the VIP club. Price is around 1100€ per night.

The Nobis Suite has two rooms decorated with wooden panels and ancient stucco. The suite has views towards Normalmstrong square and the atrium. The large suite can be connected to another suite to form a family suite. One of the rooms has a double bed and the other room is a living room with a dining table and sofas, and the bathroom has a bathtub and a shower. Guests who stay in this suite will have access to the VIP club, a complimentary breakfast, transport to and from the airport and fresh floors and fruit in each room for a price of 2900€ per night.

Restaurant.

The Caina is the hotel’s Italian restaurant. The Gold Bar and Lounge is a large bar where visitors will be able to enjoy cocktails with views towards the city center, and the lounge area is filled with locals. The Bistro is an Italian brasserie that serves meat. The hotel’s bars and lounges have a more traditional décor, with leather chairs and armchairs and wooden panels.

The hotel’s gym is located on one of its floors. Next to it guests will find the hotel’s sauna, a traditional Swedish sauna where visitors will be able to relax.

The hotel offers many services to its guests, and the hotel staff can organize transport from and to the airport, make reservations in clubs and restaurants and offer guided tours around the city. Guests have access to a personal shopper and VIP events.

Events.

There are private rooms that are used as conference halls. Guests will be able to rent these venues, that used to be the conference rooms of a bank, for large events and celebrations.

The conference halls are decorated with ancient oak panels and the ceilings are covered in stucco. There are five rooms and each room varies in size. The largest room can accommodate up to 28 guests, and the smallest conference rooms has a table with four chairs. For larger events guests will be able to use a private conference center located next to the hotel.

Location.

The hotel is located on the Normalmstrong, in the center of Stockholm. The hotel’s buildings are ancient buildings that conserve each structure’s design.

Near the hotel there are several art galleries and a short walk away from the hotel guests will find the city’s main landmarks. The medieval city of Gamla Stan and the Royal Palace are located nearby. A ferry ride across the bay will lead visitors to the National Museum. The pedestrian Biblioteksgatan is filled with boutique stores.

Palomar Hotel, frieses, organic products and paintings

The Palomar Hotel is located in Chicago, in the United States. This boutique hotel has rooms decorated with murals of the city, paintings of the Chicago World Fair and blues concerts.

Rooms.

This boutique hotel has 261 historic double rooms and is decorated with art pieces and murals. The rooms have friezes decorated with bas reliefs of the Universal Expo that took place in this city.

The rooms have Internet access, iPod docks, flat screen television sets, a minibar stocked with organic options, recycling bins and organic spa products. The bathrooms have bathrobes for each guest.

The King Deluxe room have a kingsize bed, a desk with a chair and an armchair. The Queen Deluxe rooms have two large queensize bed, a desk with a chair and an armchair. These rooms cost around 224€ per night.

The City View King Deluxe rooms are rooms with a kingsize bed and floor to ceiling windows with views towards the city center. The Double Double Deluxe rooms have two double beds.

The King Spa Premier rooms have a kingsize double bed and a lounge area. The granite bathroom have a separate bathtub and a marble shower, and there is a large sink.

The One Bedroom suites have a room with a kingsize bed and a separate living room. The living room is decorated with a sofa bed, a flat screen television set and a dining table with chairs. The granite bathroom has a separate bathtub and a marble shower.

The Luxury One Bedroom suites are suites with three rooms. These rooms have large floor to ceiling windows with views towards the west side of the city. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a flat screen television set. The living room has a sofa that can be used as a sofa bed and there is a dining table, several chairs and a television set. The bathrooms are made from granite and there is a Fiji bathtub.

The Artist Suite has floor to ceiling windows and views towards the west side of the city. The Mosaic Suite is suite where guests will be able to celebrate events. The suite has a dining table with six chairs, two lounge areas and a bathroom. The suite can be connected to the King Spa Premier rooms, forming a large family suite.

Restaurant.

The Sable Kitchen and Bar is a bar and restaurant known for its international dishes. Coffee and tea are served in the afternoons in the lobby. Wine tasting are organized during the afternoons. Guests will be able enjoy dinners in their rooms.

The hotel offers a themed catering service. Guests will be able to enjoy the Rhythm Buffet, the Harmony Buffet, the Watercolour Buffet and the Chicago Institute of Arts Buffet.

The hotel has WiFi access, a gym and a swimming pool with a terrace. The lobby has a shop where visitors will be able to purchase essential items, food, suitcases and toothpaste.

Guests will be able to stroll along Michigan Avenue, where there are many bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel organizes jogging session and tours around the neighbourhood and a nearby park.

The hotel follows an Art in Movement theme, and the hotel’s common areas, restaurants, rooms and suites are decorated with visual art. There are many paintings of the Chicago World Fair.
