Pimalai Resort and Spa, villas with their own PADI center

The Pamalai Resort&Spa is located in Ko Lanta, in Thailand. This resort is located on the coast and has several large bungalows, a spa and a swimming pool with its own diving center.

Rooms

This hotel has a total of 121 rooms, suites and villas. Each one of them has a large double bed, a bathroom and a terrace. The rooms are located inside bamboo pavilions, teak and stones from nearby rivers. The hotel garden is filled with casheew trees.

There are several types of rooms, and each room has its own design. The rooms have teakwood floors, furniture covered in silky, ochre-coloured fabric and bamboo shutters covering the floor-to-ceiling windows. Most of the rooms have Siam-inspired paitings and sculptures. Each room has its own private terrace with wooden furniture. All bathrooms have a separate bathtub and shower. Price varies between 289€ per night in a Deluxe room and 1911€ per night in a private three-bedroom villa which has its own swimming pool.

There are 64 Deluxe rooms. These rooms are located on the hotel’s ground floor and have views towards the gardens, and those few rooms located on the top floor have views towards the sea. The four Bayfront Deluxe rooms are larger, and each one of them is located inside a separate cabin near the beach. The seven Pavilion Suites are located close to the coast. Some of these suites have one double rooms, and several of them have two double roos. Each suite has its own living room with a dining table and a wooden deck with views towards the bay.

The Beach Villas can have one, two or three bedrooms. Each villas has its own private garden and access to the beach. Four of the villas are located in a separate area and can be rented for private events of up to 14 people. This area has its own living room and a kitchen. The larger villas have an extra bathroom with a bathtub on the terrace, a kitchen and a living room with views towards the private swimming pool and the Andaman Sea.

The 39 Pool Villas are located on top of a hill overlooking the rest of the resort. There are one-bedroom villas, two-bedroom villas and thrre-bedroom villas, all of them wih ocean views. Each villas has its own swimming pool and a terrace. The villas are equipped with a kitchen, a living rooms and a spa. All villas have Internet access and TV sets. Extra beds and cots can be provided for guests travelling with their families.

Dining

This hotel has four restaurants. The main restaurant is Spice’n’Rice, known for its variety of tasty and spicy dishes and rices. There are many beachside restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, many of which offer traditional Thai food. The Spice’n’Rice has views towards the hotel pool and the bay. The restaurant offers plenty of fresh fruit, natural juices and traditional English breakfasts. Thai dishes are served for lunch and dinner.

The Rak Talay is located next to the beach. This restaurant offers grilled fresh seafood. The furniture found at the restaurant was made using old wooden boats. The Banyan Tree Poolside Café us located nearby, next to the Seven Seas Restaurant. All of these building have bay views and are known for their Italian dishes and wine list.

There is a large garden that covers most of the hotel’s territory. Filled with trees typical of the jungle, it has an infinity pool. Next to the pool is the diving center where guests can get their PADI. certification.

THe hotel has its own gym, a badminton court and a basketball court. The hotel’s spa is almost integrated with the jungle. The spa pffers a ariety of traditional massages and has an exterior jacuzzi and herbal sauna, ideal for those who want to relax.

There is a white, sandy beach next to the hotel. Guests can take a boat to one of the nearby islands.

Events

The hotel is more oriented towards relax; despite this, it has four cofenrece halls. The Boardroom hall has a table for eight guests and the halls Laddalai, Napalai and Pimalai can accommodate events of up to 20 people. The hotel has two reading rooms where guests can enjoy a variety of magazines and rent Cds and DVDs. Each hall has Internet access and there is WiFi in most common areas.

Location

This hotel is located on a hill above Ko Lanta, on the island of Krabi. There are many beaches ideal for kayaking and windsurfing near the hotel. Other traditional activities include elephant rides and snorkel and diving tours. There are several national parks nearby, including the famous Lanta National Marine Park. This place is known for its natural coral reefs and clear waters. Another typical day trip is a boat trip to Koh Rok island.
