Original Hotels

The Straits Collection Hotel is located in Penang, in Malaysia. This hotel is located in an ancient residence decorated in a traditional style, with large wooden bathtubs and colourful decorations.

Rooms.

The hotel has four ancient houses located on Armenia Street. Each one of the houses has several rooms, a bathroom and a large living room.

The building is one of the many ancient colonial style houses located in the neighbourhood. There are wooden doors and floors, and the rooms are decorated in many colours. There are Chinese antiques in the rooms. The suites has flat screen television sets and mosquito repellents. The bathrooms have cascade showers.

The first suite is House 89, which has two double rooms, each one with its own bathrooms. The first room is a loft with a kingsize bed and the second room is located on the ground floor and has three individual beds. There is a television set in the living room area, next to the fridge and the tea and coffee making machines.

The 91 suite is a duplex suite. The ground floor has a living room area with a large bathroom with a wooden bathtub, two showers and access to the patio. The top floor has two rooms, one with a queensize bed and one with two twin beds, and next to them is another bathroom.

House 93 is a house of two floors. The living room, which has access to the courtyard and the antique wooden bathtub, is located on the ground floor. The top floor has a double room with a queensize bed, a sofa bed and a desk. The bathroom is located near the courtyard.

House 95 is a duplex suite. There is a room with a queensize bed, a room with two twin beds, a living room with a kitchen area and a bathroom that has access to the suite’s own courtyard.

The hotel has an oriental décor with colonial antiques and an industrial design. Each room has traditional local pieces of art. Price is around 120€ per room per night.

Restaurant.

The Little Kopi café is located in one of the hotel’s buildings, and is known for its variety of traditional dishes. The top floor of the café is now part of an art gallery.

The café offers a variety of fresh traditional pastries. The nearby restaurant, the Café y Bar Kopi C Espresso, belongs to the hotel and offers a menu of regional delicacies.

The proceeds from the art gallery are sent to a nearby animal shelter. The gallery has an area dedicated to local artists.

Events.

The hotel can organize a shuttle service to and from the airport. Guided trips around the city can be organized by the hotel.

This hotel is located on Penang street, one of the first streets to be built in this ancient districts. The street has many historical houses built in a traditional Chinese style, and four of these houses have been transformed into duplex suites. The other houses are art galleries, restaurants and shops.

Location.

The hotel is located in the Georgetown neighbourhood in Penang. The Armenia street has three large ancient buildings that were built in a colonial style. These three buildings have now been transformed into cafés, art galleries, restaurants and shops. Guests will be able to walk around the neighbourhood and visit nearby museums and temples.

The Armenia housing complex is filled with art galleries that visitors will be able to explore. The China House is one of the restaurants in the area that serves traditional Chinese food, and tea ceremonies can be enjoyed in one of the nearby tea houses. There are several restaurants, from the Edelweiss restaurant that specializes in centroeuropean food to Amélie’s Café, where pasta and coffee are served.

The nearby galleries are Straits Studio, where many pieces by local artists are exhibited, China House known for its craft-shops and Seni Mutiara, dedicated to temporary exhibitions. Guests will be able to enjoy the city’s art scene.

House of Waine is a hotel located in Nairobi, Kenya. This ancient mansion has been transformed into a lodge with rooms dedicated to one of the country’s regions and decorated with wooden furniture.

Rooms.

The hotel has eleven double rooms. Each room has a large double bed and a bathroom with a shower, and the decorations vary in each room.

Each room is dedicated to an aspect of the local culture. Nine of the rooms can be transformed into individual rooms, double rooms with one bed and double rooms with two beds. Each room has a large marble bathroom with a window. The bathrooms have a bathtub and a shower, and two of the rooms have only a bathtub.

Makan is a room dedicated to the typical red chillis found in the region and is decorated in shades of red. This room can be connected to the Kanini room, a room decorated in lighter shades, to create a large family room.

The Safari room is a room that has decorations similar to a lodge and a large traveller’s trunk next to the bed. The room next to it is Ziwa, a blue room that represents a lake.

Malaika is a large suite with a double bed and a lounge area decorated in black. Tembo is a grey room that evokes one of the region’s animals, the elephant.

Manyatta is decorated with colours and material typical of the Maasai Mara tribe, black and red. Bustani is a green room that has views towards the hotel’s garden.

The Pwani room is a room decorated in the style of traditional seaside houses, with wicker chairs and wood furniture. The Sahara room has a large carpet the colour of the desert, two beds and a table. The Victoria room has an iron bed, a bathroom with a claw foot bathtub and a fireplace.

Each room has a safe, tea and coffee machines and a television set. Fresh milk and freshly grounded coffee is delivered to each room before breakfast. There is a selection of pastries served at breakfast. Price is between 157 and 217€ per night.

Restaurant.

The hotel’s restaurant has views towards the garden. Guests will be able to enjoy traditional food made using local ingredients and ecological products.

Guests will be able to try traditional dishes from several of the country’s regions. Guests can have their lunches and dinners at several places around the hotel’s territory, in the garden, next to the swimming pool and at two bars. The Main Bar is the hotel’s most visited bar, and the Pool Bar is located next to the swimming pool.

The hotel has its own heated pool. Guests will be able to relax in the pool and enjoy a cocktail at the bar.

Events.

There are two conference halls at the hotel. These halls can be used for conferences and other types of private events.

Location.

The hotel is located close to the city of Nairobi. This ancient mansion has gardens where guests will be able to enjoy walks.

Guests can explore the city. The hotel can organize safaris and tours around the regions, and guests can visit the nearby natural parks.

Guided tours around the neighbourhood of Karen, where the hotel is located, are available for guests who stay at the hotel. The tours visit the Matbronze Art Gallery. The nearby streets are filled with shops, stalls selling traditional Kazuri trinkets and craft shops selling hand made pottery.

The Giraffe Center is located a short distance away from the hotel, a place where guests can feed the giraffes and walk around the park. The Daphne Sheldrick Sanctuary is located nearby, and there are many elephants and rhinoceros on the territory of the sanctuary. The Nairobi National Park is located next to the city.

The Spirit of the Knights Hotel is located on the Island of Rodhes, in Greece. This boutique hotel has suites dedicated to the Templar knights and Ottoman suites with views towards a stone swimming pool.

Rooms.

The suites at the hotel are double suites with a bathroom. Each suite has its own theme dedicated to archaeology, the Templars and the Ottoman Empire, and is decorated with antique furniture.

The rooms are decorated with ancient pieces of art that we brought from  Greece, Morocco, Persia, Turkey and the Middle East. There are hand woven carpets and kilims on the floors. The furniture is made of wood and was carved by hand.

The Knights Chamber is a room that was built during the crusades. This room has marble floors and high ceilings. There is a large kingsize bed. The bathroom has a marble sink, a bathtub carved by hand and a shower.

The Ottoman suite is part of a building that was built during the Crusades. The suite has a kingsize bed, a marble bathroom and a lounge area. The ceilings are high and there is a Turkish style chimney in the center of the room.

The Crusaders’ Suite is dedicated to the Crusaders. This room has the same ceilings that the first building had, and the windows are decorated with stained glass and ottoman patterns. There is a kingsize bed and a bathroom with a marble bathtub and shower, and the loft has been transformed into the living room area.

The Rodos Suite has a room with a kingsize bed, a bathroom and a separate living room area. The main room has views towards the patio and the Palacio of the Great Masters, and the living room has windows decorated with stained glass.

The Gran Master suite has windows covered by traditional Turkish style shades made from wood. There is a large kingsize bed, a bathroom and a living room with views towards the palace.

The Pasha suite is a suite decorated with furniture that was assembled during the Ottoman Empire. The ceiling of the lounge is known for its mural and the room has a large kingsize bed. The bathroom has a marble bathtub with a shower. Each suite has a private hammam where guests will be able to relax.

Restaurant.

The hotel has a bar. Guests will be able to enjoy lunch, dinner and cocktails at the bar, which has views towards the patio of the hotel.

There is a large breakfast hall at the hotel. During breakfast guests have a choice of fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, tea and juice.

Next to the reception is the lounge. There is a library, an interior patio and an exterior patios decorated with fountains. The garden has a jacuzzi.

This hotel was built using recyclable material. There are solar panels that are used to heat the water for showers, and the floors are made of wood, marble and stone. The hotel’s radiators are made of marble. The carpets were woven using natural materials and there are hypoallergenic pillows. Bath amenities and cleaning products are made from non allergenic ingredients. The lamps around the hotel are designer lamps that were made by hand.

Yoga classes are organized at the hotel. The hotel offers several trips and excursions to nearby villages.

Events.

There is Internet access at the hotel and next to the lobby visitors will find a business center. Conferences and events can be organized at the hotel.

Guests who stay at the hotel can participate in yoga classes. The hotel offers a variety of massages and skin treatments for guests.

Location.

The hotel is located close to the city center of Rhodes. The ancient building was built by knights during the crusades, and was later partially restores and rebuilt during the Ottoman Empire.

Guests will be able to explore the ancient medieval town. A short distance away is the Souleiman Mosque and the Grand Palace. Guests who want to explore the island and join one of the many guided tours that the hotel organizes. There are many beaches near the hotel for guests to enjoy.

The Hix Island House Hotel is located on the island of Puerto Rico. The concrete houses have lofts with views towards a butterfly reserve.

Rooms.

The rooms were built using concrete and are decorated with dark furniture and colourful designs. Each room has a bed, a bathroom and views towards the sea, the butterfly reserve and the rest of the garden.

Casa Solaris has six lofts. The first and second lofts are located on the top floor of the house. Each loft has a kingsize bed that can be transformed into two individual beds, an exterior shower, a kitchen with a patio and views towards the ocean. The third and fourth lofts are located on the second floor of the house. These two lofts have a double room each, a large bathroom with an outdoor shower, a patio with a lounge area and views towards the ocean. The fifth and sixth lofts are located on the ground floor and are the largest lofts at the hotel. Each loft has two double rooms, and each double room is quipped with a bathroom and an outdoor shower. The lofts have a living room with a kitchen, a patio with a lounge area and a dining room with views towards the hotel’s garden.

The Casita is a villa located next to La Casona. This villa is located on a hill and has a room with kingsize bed, a bathroom with an exterior shower from where guests can enjoy ocean views, a kitchen and a patio with a dining room area.

La Casa Redonda is a circle shaped villa with several lofts. Lofts 1 and 2 have a kingsize bed, a bathroom with a double sink and an exterior shower, a kitchen with a dining table and a patio with a hammock and a lounge. Lofts 3 and 4 are located on the second floor and have a kingsize bed, a bathroom with an exterior shower, a kitchen and a patio. Lofts 1 and 3 have ocean views and lofts 2 and 4 have views towards the patio.

La Casa Triangular is a triangular building located on the hotel’s territory. The Matisse Loft is located on the top floor and has a queensize bed, a bathroom, a kitchen, a patio with a lounge and ocean views and a staircase that leads to the rooftop of the building. The Adobe Loft is the loft located on the ground floor and has a kingsize bed, a bathroom with an exterior shower, a patio with a lounge and garden views. The Studio Loft is located on the first floor and has a kingsize bed, a bathroom with an exterior shower, a kitchen and a lounge that leads to the patio, which has ocean views.

La Casa Rectangular has several lofts, and each loft has a kingsize bed, a bathroom with an exterior annex where the shower is located, a kitchen and a patio with a dining room. Lofts 5 and 6 are located on the top floor and have ocean views. Lofts 7 and 8 are one floor below and have garden views. The Gallery Loft is located on the ground floor and consists of a large suite adapted to guests on wheelchairs, with a kingsize bed that can be transformed into two twin beds, a bathroom with a shower and a kitchen that leads to a private patio.

Price varies between 100 and 538€ per nights. Price includes cotton clothes for each guests. There is WiFi next to the reception areas.

Restaurant.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant. Each loft has its own kitchen that comes equipped with cereal, a selection of tea and coffee, fresh fruit, eggs, milk, jams, bread and juices.

The houses and lofts are located on a set of hills. The hotel’s swimming pool is a designer pool where guests will be able to relax while enjoying views towards the sea. The pool has solar panels for heating. The pool does not use any chemical products and is disinfected using copper and silver ions.

Guests are provided with hammocks for the beach. Guests have snorkel equipment at their disposal.

Events.

La Casona is located on top of a hill on the hotel’s territory. This large building can be used for events of up to 80 people. The villa has several halls that can accommodate private dinners and conference halls, and the hotel can provide a catering service for those guests who do not want to use the kitchen. La Casona has views towards Isla Vieques, the Bioluminescent Bay and the Caribbean.

Location.

The hotel is located on the island of Vieques, to the south of Puerto Rico. Guests will be able to enjoy long walks along the shore of the Caribbean and participate in trips to nearby natural parks.

This hotel is an ecological place that tries to increase the awareness of recycling. The houses and villas use solar energy and water cisterns. The water in the shower is heated using the solar panels. The water that is not used for the showers and in the toilet is drained and is later used to water the plants.

The beaches located closest to the hotel are Sun Bay Beach and the beaches of Refugio de Peces and Vida Silvestre on the east coast of the island. Guests will be able to rent cars in order to explore the beaches, restaurants and nearby shops.

The Boutique Hotel View is a hotel located in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. The hotel is a traditional house with a narrow colourful pastel facade and views towards the canal.

Rooms.

The hotel has fourteen double rooms, each room with colourful decorations and its own bathroom. Each room has a double bed with a leather headboard, colourful leather puffs and grey and pink bed covers.

The hotel has six double deluxe rooms and eight suites. The floors are made of dark wood and there are ancient chandeliers in the rooms. Each bathroom has a shower. The rooms and suites are decorated in greys and pinks, and each room has a flat screen television set and WiFi.

Three of the double suites and two of the suites have views towards the canals. Each room and suite is hypoallergenic and has a double bed, a flat screen television set and a bathroom. The deluxe rooms have safes, a decorative fireplace, a desk with a chair and a coffee and tea making machine.

There are several standard double rooms, half of which have views towards the hotel garden and the other half have views towards the canal. Part of the larger deluxe rooms have views towards the street and the nearby gardens, and others have views towards the canal. Price is around 79€ per night.

The triple deluxe room has two individual beds and a sofabed in the living room area. The bathroom has a shower. This room costs around 159€ per night.

Restaurants.

The hotel has a breakfast room where guests will be able to enjoy a buffet breakfast. Coffee, tea, a variety of cereal and fresh fruit are served at breakfast. There are several options available for guests who have allergies and food intolerances. Price per breakfast is around 10€ per person.

There is a library, a café bar decorated with white leather armchairs and sofa and a television hall on the hotel’s ground floor. The rooms and the lobby have access to WiFi.

Events.

The hotel offers guests a fax service and there is a business center. In the lobby guests will find a guide to the city’s main attractions and several tours around the region. Bicycles can be rented to explore the city, and the hotels offers a transport service to the airport.

Location.

The hotel is located in a traditional Amsterdam house, on the banks of one of the city’s canals. The pastel coloured house is decorated with antique street lights and has large windows with views towards the bridge.

The Leidseplein, one of the city’s main avenues filled with bars, restaurants and shops, is located near the hotel. Guests can enjoy walks around the area, located in the center of the city. There are maps for guests in the lobby.

The museum district is located a short walk away from the hotel. Here guests will find the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, next to many other museums and galleries. The Vondelpark, a large park where guests will be able to ride their bikes and have picnics, is located next to the museums.
