Samuama Park Hotel, a tree house in the Amazon

The Samúama Park Hotel is located in Brazil. This hotel consists of a giant tree house and several wooden cabins, and attracts those guests who want to enjoy an ecological holiday.

Cabins.

All the cabins have a private porch and terrace where guests can enjoy the views. Each cabin is designed in an Amazonic style, using wooden decorations and furniture. The stairs are made from several species of trees, and for each tree used for building the hotel, another tree has been planted in the jungle.

The tree house was built using twenty species of trees and is located between a 28 meter high and a 35 meter high tree. The tree house has four suites. Each suite has a bedroom with a bathroom, a living room and a terrace with chairs.

Each cabin has eighteen apartments. The apartments located in the yellow building are named after local rocks, and those located in the blue building are named after minerals typical of the region. Each apartment is equipped with a bedroom, a bathroom, a terrace, air conditioning, telephone and cable television.

Restaurant.

The hotel’s territory is filled with plants and there is a pond in the center, a short distance away from the hotel’s restaurant where guests can enjoy local food. There is a terrace next to the swimming pool.

Events.

In a separate building guests will find the cafeteria and the convention center for conferences and events. The convention center has a maximum capacity for a hundred people and is equipped with audio equipment. Part of the roof has a large diamond shaped window which allows natural light. The roof in the convention center is wave shaped which allows improved acoustics.

Two times a year, on the 21st of March and on the 23rd of September, the hotel organizes its grand event. During these two days the sun rises right above the central diamond shaped pane in the roof, filling the rooms with light and light patterns. The hotel is only a couple of kilometers above the Equator.

Origin.

The hotel is named after the Samauma tribe that used to live near the coast of Marajo bay. The tree house was the hotel’s first building, and four years later the small cabins were built.

Location.

The hotel is located near the Caripi beach. The hotel was built with ecological building materials trying to minimize the risk of polluting the Amazon.

The hotel is located on the territory of a private nature reserve, the only reserve of this type in the state of Pará. This is considered to be a guarantee of the hotel’s compromise to look after the animals and plants of the region.

The hotel organizes excursions to the nearby beaches and ecological tours to the jungle. The guides are all locals and during the tours guests can listen to stories about the use of each plant, the habits of local animals, the origins of the names of landmarks and the geography of the Amazon.

Hotel Josef, ecological design and Segway tours

The Josef Hotel is a design hotel located in Prague, in the Czech Republic. The hotel combines traditional natural elements with the latest design.

Rooms.

There are 109 rooms at the hotel, eight of them individual rooms, 25 twin rooms and 76 double rooms. The hotel has two buildings, the orange building and the pink building.

All the rooms at the hotel have an ecological design, with light coloured designer furniture and large spaces. All rooms have a telephone, Internet, television sets with DVD, a safe, a minibar and air conditioning. The bathrooms, decorated in white and green, have a large shower, bathroom amenities and bathrobes and slippers for guests.

Two of the rooms are larger rooms adapted for guests who have mobility issues. Most of the rooms at the hotel are rooms for non smokers.

The Deluxe and Superior rooms have views towards the hotel’s courtyard. These rooms have coffee and tea making machines. The rooms 704, 801, 803 and 806 are spacious rooms with Nespresso machines.

The Super Deluxe rooms can have either two twin beds or a kingsize bed, and there are rooms with a sofa in the living area and rooms with a balcony. The bathrooms in each room are different, and there are bathrooms with a bathtub, with a glass shower and decorated in limestone.

Room 803 has views towards Prague Castle. Room 806 is a spacious room with a kingsize bed and a sofa, and views towards the courtyard of the hotel.

Prices vary depending on the day of the week. An individual rooms cost between 144 and 209€ per night, and a double room costs between 154 and 219€ per night.

Restaurant.

The hotel’s restaurant serves continental breakfasts, meals, fresh fruit and freshly baked pastry. The restaurant has views towards the courtyard and during the warmer days guests will be able to enjoy a breakfast served on the hotel’s terrace.

The hotel has a bar which has access to the interior courtyard. During the day the bar serves snacks, and during the night it is filled with locals and tourists who want to enjoy a cocktail.

Internet.

Guests will be able to enjoy WiFi at the hotel. The hotel has a small business center with computers, Internet access and a printer.

Extras.

The hotel has a gym with several treadmills and a sauna. The hotel has a contract with a nearby hairdresser salon and a spa where guests will be able to relax.

Events.

Events can be organized in the Moon, Small Moon and Sun halls. For open air events guests can rent the hotel’s 102 square meter courtyard. Depending on the type of event guests can celebrate their conferences at the hotel’s restaurant, on the terrace and in the informal conference lobby.

The conference halls have a projector, a large screen and a laser pointer for meetings and presentations. The hotel can organize the events and provide translators. Coffee, tea and mineral water is served during the meetings, and there is a catering service for afternoon tea breaks and lunch.

Location.

The hotel is located in the medieval center of Prague. A short distance away guests will find some of the city’s main landmarks and monuments.

This hotel offers its guests several services. Guests can use the hotel’s limousine service that will transport them from and to the airport and around the city. Tours are organized around the Prague Castle and around the city. Ushuaïa Beach Hotel, a party hotel with a party suite

The Ushuaïa Beach Hotel is located in Ibiza, in the Balearic Islands in Spain. This hotel, located right on the beach, is designed for parties.

Party on the beach.

The hotel is designed for parties and for guests who visit the island for its beaches, music, sea, sun and parties. Parties with the most popular DJ’s can be organized on the hotel’s own beach and in the swimming pool.

Décor.

This Ibizan hotel is decorated with designs inspired by nature. The hotel itself is formed by several bungalows. Each bungalow has a maximum of three floors. The hotel is open from May until October.

Rooms.

There are 236 rooms at the hotel. All rooms are double rooms with a minimum of décor and have a technologically advanced bathroom, chromotherapy lights, aromatherapy fragrances and thick curtains that block out the lights after a hard night partying. For an extra price guests will be able to choose their own eiderdowns and pillows, enjoy a thick bathrobe and fluffy towels for the pool and have their own small refrigerator filled with snacks in their rooms.

The Double Standard rooms have a double bed and a bathroom with a shower, a laptop sized safe and an iPod dock. The Double Superior rooms are larger and have the same amenities, and the double bed can be transformed into two twin beds. Prices are between 200 and 300€ per night.

The Swim Up rooms have a private terrace with direct access to the swimming pool that flows around the hotel like a river. Price is around 410€ per night.

The Suites at this hotel have views towards the sea, a queensize bed, a 50 inch television screen and a bathroom with a jacuzzi. Guests who stay in these rooms will be able to check in without having to wait and the price includes transport to and from the airport. Price is 550€ per night.

The Presidential Suite has views towards the beach and the sea. This suite is the largest suite at the hotel, with a bedroom, decorations designed by known brands and a bathroom with a jacuzzi. Price is around 745€ per night.

The Pioneer Suite offers guests a new concept. This suite is a party suite in a party centered hotel. The walls are thick and soundproof and the suite is equipped with the latest Pioneer sound system. Guests will be able to organize parties with DJs at the suite and a VIP service is available for these guests.

Swimming pools.

The hotel has several pools and sun decks where guests can relax in Balinese hammocks and Jacuzzis. One of the swimming pools is oval shaped and another one looks like a river that flows through the hotel. There is a gym with several machines and a spa with massage rooms, hairdressers and skin treatment centers.

Events.

Many events are organized in the main hall of the hotel, including parties with DJ’s, fashion catwalks and live concerts. The hotel can organize all kinds of events, such as celebrations and private parties.

Restaurant.

The Beach Club is the hotel’s restaurant where guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast that is included in the price of the room. Every night guests can enjoy samples of Mediterranean cuisine at the restaurant. The Magic Chill and Garden restaurant serves a la carte breakfasts with views towards the pool. The Magic Garden serves salads and refreshments during the day and guests can enjoy a barbecue. The hotel’s other restaurant is the U Sushi and Teppanyaki which serves traditional Japanese food, which guests can enjoy in the oriental lounge and in the Zen garden.

Boutique.

The hotel has its own boutique store, the U Fashion Boutique, where guests can buy accessories and clothes. There is air conditioning and WiFi in all the hotel.

Location.

The hotel is located near the Playa d’en Bossa beach, between the airport and the island’s capital. Guests can enjoy many water sports activities on the beach and there are many bars and clubs. Ibiza is not only about crystal waters, parties that last all night and shops everywhere. Guests can visit the natural landscapes and the caves, go inside the XIVth century Cathedral and walk around the traditional towns and cities.

Verana Hotel, ecological cabins with views towards the bay

The Verana Hotel is located in the Bay of Flags in Mexico. The hotel has several private cabins from where guests can enjoy views and celebrate events.

Rooms.

There are several types of accommodation options at the hotel, which has nine cabins, ranging from small colourful traditional houses to larger bungalows. The minimum stay at the hotel is for five nights, and price varies between 172 and 330€ per night.

All the cabins were built with local and ecological materials. Each cabin has a different style, with large spaces and hand crafted wooden furniture. Each cabin has a private bathroom, a master bedroom with two beds that can form a kingsize bed and a terrace with hammocks. The beds have mosquito nets and there is an area for practicing yoga. The cabins have views towards either the sea or the mountains.

The Tea House is the largest cabin and has a private swimming pool. The Jungle Suite cabin has two bedrooms, one of them queensize and the other kingsize, a large bathroom with a bathtub and a spacious living room. The Bungalow V House is a cabin with a master bedroom with a kingsize bed and two extra bedrooms with queensize beds.

The Bungalow cabin has two bedrooms, the Casa Piedra cabin has a bedroom with a kingsize bed and the Pool House has two kingsize bedrooms. The smaller Studio cabin has a kingsize bedroom, Casa Amor is a one bedroom cabin and the Palapa cabin is a duplex.

Gardens and Pool.

On the hotel’s territory guests will find a large swimming pool that integrates with the landscape. The hotel’s gardens have several types of trees and views towards the sea.

Restaurant.

The hotel’s restaurant offers three daily meals made from local ingredients. The ingredients used are fresh and are brought from Puerto Vallarta each morning. Guests will be able to taste Mexican dishes and international cuisine. The hotel can prepare picnic baskets for guests who want to spend a day exploring the region.

The hotel has a bar with a terrace where guests can enjoy cocktails and wine while watching the sunset. There is a wide range of tequilas.

Events.

Giraffe Hotel, vintage photographs

The Giraffe Hotel is a boutique hotel located in New York, in the United States. The Giraffe has an ageless décor and vintage ornaments dating from the 1920’s.

Rooms and Prices.

This hotel has seven double rooms on each floor. The 72 rooms have high ceilings, chairs and puffs covered in pink velvet, and vintage photographs dating from 1920. The beds are double beds with chocolate coloured headboards. The other decorations are colored in shades of platinum pearl.

Bathrooms.

The bathrooms are equipped with aromatherapy products, thick bathrobes and slippers, and guests will find hair dryers, a telephone and smaller mirrors near the large mirror. The work area has a granite table and Internet connection, a safe, mp3 docks and a television with 250 channels.

Types of Rooms.

All the Deluxe rooms have double doors that lead to each room’s private balcony. The Deluxe Queen rooms have a queensize bed covered with Egyptian cotton. The Deluxe King rooms have a kingsize bed and a small private balcony. The Deluxe Double rooms have two double beds.

The Superior King rooms are large rooms with a kingsize bed. The Superior One Bedroom suites are one bedroom suites with a kingsize bed and a living room with a sofa.

The Terrace One Bedroom rooms are the largest suites, with a bedroom with a kingsize bed, a living room with a sofa and a small balcony with views towards Park Avenue. A Two Bedroom Suite can be created by joining two Terrace One Bedroom suites. These suites have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living rooms with a balcony.

Restaurants and Extras.

The hotel offers several services to its guests, providing mineral water and daily press during the whole stay. For an extra 14€ guests will be able to enjoy an European breakfast, and for 10€ they will be able to enjoy coffee, sodas and tea during the day.

Guests will be able to enjoy a wine tasting tour while listening to live music. Next to the hotel guests will find the Park Avenue Bistro, where guests can enjoy dinners at a reduced price.

Events.

The main hall is the Piano Suite. The hall has high domed ceilings and views towards Manhattan. The hall is used for conferences and events.

Clink 78, a hostel in a redesigned courthouse

The Clink 78 Hostel is a hostel located in a courtroom near King’s Cross Station in London, England, in the United Kingdom. The old courtroom has been remodeled into a hostel with large rooms and Internet access.

Reception area.

Each bedroom has a locker and a safe for each guest. The reception area has vending machines and is open all day long, an option designed for guests who arrive late.

Group prices.

The hostel has special prices for groups of more than 15 people. The hostel’s bedrooms come in several sizes and can accommodate from 4 to 16 people per bedroom, where each bedroom has bunk beds and each bunk bed has its own light and locker. Some bedrooms, with a cost from 10€ per person per night, have their own bathroom, and others have a shared bathroom in the hall.

Rooms.

Some rooms are designed for girls only and are painted in pastel colours, with a price of 11€ per bunk. These Deluxe rooms are located inside what used to be the Police Station and are designed only for girls, with hair dryers, large mirrors on the walls and larger wardrobes.

Design and History.

The Clink 78 Hostel combines more than 200 years of history with the latest design. The hotel has managed to preserve the hotel’s two court rooms and seven jail cells. The courtroom that is now the television lounge was the place where The Clash had to stand in the dock for shooting prize winning pigeons, and the courtroom that is now the Internet room is said to be the place that inspired Charles Dickens to write Oliver Twist.

This Magistrate’s building is more than 200 years old. The hotel is located only 10 minutes away by foot from King’s Cross Station and St. Pancras. The building is located in central London, and it a short underground trip away from the airports, railway stations and the Eurostar.

Welcome Hotel, a hotel with rooms from China, Egypt and India

The Welcome Hotel is located in Brussels, Belgium. This artsy hotel is filled with many decorations, art masterpieces and ornaments designed in various styles.

Rooms and prices.

There is a total of 17 rooms at the hotel. Each room is a double room with its own bathroom and an individual décor. There are rooms decorated with designs typical of a country or a region, such as Congo, Japan, Kenya and Vietnam. Tribal masks and country maps decorate the walls of each room. These rooms cost 135€ per night.

There are several Deluxe rooms which can either have a bathroom with a bathtub or a bathroom with a jacuzzi for two. The India Room has several statues of Ganesha and Shiva. The Bali room is decorated with hand crafted furniture and wooden crafts on the walls. The Tahiti room is made of bamboo and decorated with images of tropical birds. The Deluxe rooms cost 155€ per night.

The Suites have a kingsize bed, a bathroom with a jacuzzi and a shower, a separate living room and a balcony. There are several suites, such as the India Suite and the Silk Road Suite. The Belgian suite is a family room with two bedrooms and a living room that has an area for prams, and can accommodate up to five people. Price is 200€ per night in a suite and 240€ per night in a family suite.

Breakfast.

Guests will be able enjoy a buffet breakfast. The buffet serves cold meats, soups, several types of freshly baked bread and pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, cocoa and tea.

Extra services.

In the lobby guests will be able to buy theatre tickets and tickets for guided tours around the city. The is WiFi available for guests and an Internet corner with computers and photocopying machines which is open all day.

The mills.

Main building.

The main building, located next to the two mills, holds two standard rooms. One of the rooms is a double room with a double bed, and the other is a twin room with two twin beds. Both rooms have their own bathroom and views towards the sea.

Price.

Price depends on the season. Between November and January price is around 125€ per night, reaching around 150€ per night between February and April. May, June and October cost 175€ per night, and during the months of July, August and September price is around 200€ per night.

Design.

The mills still have the ancient structure on the outside, and they have been remodeled on the inside. The hotel has a large terrace where guests can enjoy the sunshine and a swimming pool. On the hotel’s territory there is a children’s playground and a picnic area with benched and tables. There is a large garden with several benches.

Activities.

Near the hotel guests will find a beach where they will be able to relax. The bay where the hotel is located is filled with fishing boats and private vessels. Depending on the season guests will be able to observe the dolphins in the bay. The restaurants around this region offer guests a wide range of fresh fish fished each morning.

Events.

The hotel can organize events of up to 300 people on its territory. The catering service can prepare a wide range of typical regional menus and guests will be able to enjoy typical Azeitão fare. The area is known for its wines, cheeses, fresh fish and home made pastries.

Location.

The two mills are located above a mountain with views towards the Sado River and the ocean. A couple of minutes away from the hotel guests will find the Setubal castle, an historical castle. In the nearby castle of Setubal there are many historical landmarks and monuments, such as the Monastery of Jesus of Setubal. The hotel is around an hour away from Lisbon, near the Arrabida Natural Park.

Abali Gran Sultanato Hotel, feel like a Sultan in the 1001 nights

The Abali Gran Sultanato Hotel is located in Palermo, on the island of Sicily, Italy. This bed and breakfast follows the theme of the stories featured in 1001 nights.

Decorations and Themed Rooms.

There are several rooms in this small bed and breakfast. All rooms have an individual décor, a bathroom, air conditioning, a television and WiFi. The rooms are decorated in bright colours and eclectic ornaments. There is a room with a round bed, a tango themed room, and a Sultan suite, with a kingsize four poster bed and a jacuzzi directly in the room.

Price varies depending on the season and the type of room. Standard rooms cost around 30€ per person per night during low season, and the suites can cost around 90€ per person per night during high season.

There are three types of rooms, and some are triple rooms. Standard rooms have a double bed and a bathroom with a shower. There are Old England bathroom amenities. The hotel can make guests feel like a real Sultan. Guests will be able to choose the type of pillows they prefer from the pillow menu, enjoy breakfast in bed and decorate their rooms with flowers and plants. The hotel organizes guided tours around the city and guests can rent bicycles directly at the reception desk. With just one call guests can book a shiatsu massage or a relaxing Turkish bath.

The Mohanaraja is the butler of this particular court, who is in charge of ensuring that guests have an enjoyable stay. The hotel’s common room has a wide range of table games including checkers, chess and majong. Guests will be able to spend a whole evening playing cards or darts.

Breakfast.

Breakfast is served in the Royal Dining Room. The Grand Sultanate of Abali is located in the historical center of Palermo, on the corner of Via de San Agostino and Via Maqueda, two of the city’s main streets. The hotel is only a couple of blocks away from the traditional Capo Market and a short distance away from the Massimo Theatre and Quattro Canti. Nearby landmarks include the Piazza Politeama, the Palermo Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Normanni.

Kasbah du Toubkal, a hotel with the Berber experience

The Kasbah du Toubkal Hotel is located in the Moroccan mountains. This hotel is a traditional rural house where guests will be able to live the authentic Berber experience.

The Berber Experience.

The hotel is located in the Toubkal National Park. The Kasbah was built to resemble a traditional dwelling typical of this region and welcomes both those who have come looking for a refuge in the mountains and those who are looking for a place to relax.

Accommodation.

There are several types of accommodation options available with views towards the valleys. The cheapest form of accommodation is to stay in the Berber Halls, large rooms designed for groups and families travelling together. One hall can accommodate up to seven guests and the other can accommodate up to twelve guests.

The 30 Standard rooms are decorated in shades of white and ochre and have a double bed and a bathroom. Some of these rooms are located inside the small towers decorating the top part of the hotel. There is hot water in the bathroom and thick bed covers on each bed. Price is around 160€ per night. The Deluxe and Superior rooms are larger and have more traditional decorations, and their price is around 220 and 250€ per night.

The three largest rooms are the Superior Ensuite Private room and the two Deluxe Ensuite Private rooms. These three rooms have large windows and a private balcony. The separate bathtub and shower in the bathroom were hand crafted. These rooms can be either double rooms, twin rooms, or triple rooms.

Next to the hotel there is a smaller building, an annex that can accommodate up to six people. The 125 square meter annex is known as the Garden Suite and has a 12 meter long glass wall with views towards the Jbel Toubkal. This private house has three double rooms with bathrooms, a kitchen, a large living room and a terrace with mountain views. Price is 790€ per night.

The entire hotel can be booked for a short break. There is enough space for 26 people and guests will have all the hotel’s personnel at their service. The common rooms have many table games, a library and a radio.

Tradition.

Upon arrival, guests can wash their hands with rose water. Dates covered in milk and other dry fruits are offered to guests when they arrive at the hotel. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with mountain views where guests will be able to enjoy traditional dishes accompanied by mint tea.

Guests will be able to get to learn some aspects of the Berber culture and their traditions. Trekking excursions and overnight trips are organized in the nearby mountains and in the Toubkal National Park, where guests will be able to climb North Africa’s highest peak.

The hotel is located in the Azzaden Valley and from the outside looks like a traditional village house. This hotel is an ecological hotel where the heating is powered by solar panels.

There is a chauffeur service offered by the hotel that will take guests on a tour of Imlil or Marrakesh. The hotel can organize the whole trip, from plane ticket reservations to any other extra services during the trip.

The hotel is located in a village near the Jbel Toubkal mountain, the highest mountain peak in the region. There are around ten other traditional villages nearby, all of them located 1800 meters above sea level. Around 60 kilometers away from the hotel is Marrakesh, known for its colourful markets.
